United States Senator for New York Kirsten Gillibrand at Pace Law School

Senator Gillibrand spoke in front of a crowd of private company officials and regional community leaders at Pace Law School on Friday, October 23, 2009, on her most recent work on current legislation. On January 23, 2009, Kirsten E. Gillibrand was appointed by New York Governor David Paterson to fill the Senate seat vacated by Hillary Rodham Clinton, who assumed the office of United States Secretary of State in the Obama administration.

Classroom Building Foyer Renamed The Cuddy & Feder Grand Foyer in Honor of Support from Top Westchester Firm

In recognition of the support and contributions that top Westchester County law firm Cuddy & Feder LLP has made to Pace Law School, Dean Michelle Simon hosted partners of the firm and Pace Law School faculty at a reception to name the grand foyer of the Law School’s Classroom Building, The Cuddy & Feder Grand Foyer, on Monday, October 26, 2009, on the Pace Law School campus in White Plains.

Pace Law School Announces Recent Faculty Book Publications

Pace Law School is proud to announce the recent publication of two books by our faculty. University Professor Nicholas A. Robinson co-authored Climate Change Law: Mitigation and Adaptation (American Casebooks) (West 2009) with Prof. David Hodas (Widener) and Prof. James Gustave Speth (Yale). The casebook explores climate change law using primary source materials, commentary, and problem exercises. Professor Thomas McDonnell’s recently published book, The United States, International Law and the Struggle against Terrorism (Routledge 2009), examines United States policies and practices in counter-terrorism against the principles of international law.

Center for Environmental Legal Studies Announces 2009 Pace Law Grad for First Center Fellowship

The Pace Law School Center for Environmental Legal Studies (CELS) announces the first Center Fellowship and the selection of Sean T. Dixon '09 as the first Research Fellow. The CELS is the heart of Pace Law School’s environmental programs, housing the core of the environmental faculty and many of Pace Law School's academic and research programs, such as the Pace Energy and Climate Center and the Brazil-American Institute for Law and Environment.

PILSO Needs You!

Help law students afford public interest summer internships by donating items or services to the annual Public Interest Law Scholarship Organization (PILSO) Auction. PILSO is currently accepting donations of items or services that will be auctioned off through an online auction in March 2010. Donations can include retail items, tickets to sporting or cultural events, and services, such as training sessions or use of a vacation home for a weekend.

Alumni Needed for the 2010 Pace ICC Moot Competition

The annual Pace Law School International Criminal Court (ICC) Moot Competition, now the Regional Round for the Americas/Caribbean for the ICC Trial Competition held in The Hague, will be held January 29–31, 2010. Alumni are needed to serve as judges and in other capacities. For attorneys admitted for more than two years, CLE practice credits may be earned for each round of judging. NELMCC Seeking Alumni to Judge

The 22nd Annual National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition (NELMCC) will be held on the White Plains campus during February 2010. This year we have over 80 schools registered to participate in this preeminent moot centered on current, and often controversial, environmental issues. Attorneys who are admitted to the bar are invited to judge the preliminary rounds of oral arguments on February 18 and 19. Two CLE practice credits may be earned per round of judging. An additional environmental ethics CLE course will also be offered at a discounted price during the dates of the competition. Interested persons should contact Leslie Crincoli.
