New semester... new opportunities to get involved!

Dear Alumni,

One of the rewarding aspects of working in a school setting is the opportunity to begin fresh twice a year. As we embark on a new semester, I wanted to thank you for the many ways you give back to Pace Law School, including interacting with students, supporting alumni events, volunteering as a mentor or moot court judge, donating to the Annual Fund and more. This spring, I encourage you to become involved in a new or different way, and welcome any thoughts or ideas you may have.

Best wishes for a happy New Year and semester,

Michelle S. Simon
Dean and Professor of Law

Attention all environmental law alumni... Alumni needed to judge the 24th annual competition and earn CLE credits

The Pace Environmental Law Alumni Advisory Council (PEAAC) and the Center for Environmental Legal Studies will be hosting a party for environmental law alumni and alumni moot court judges on Thursday evening, February 23, at 7 p.m. (the first evening of the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition, right after the Ethics CLE).  All environmental alumni (certificate holders, environmental course takers, NELMCC judges, or alumni practicing in the field) are welcome to attend.  Dean Harmon and environmental law professors will be on hand to provide updates on the environmental law program.  There will also be a PEACC election for new officers and directors, so if you’re interested in joining PEACC, send an email with a brief statement of interest to PEAAC President Nicole Sullivan at cnsullivan@envirolawyer.net.  To attend the party and receive more details, please RSVP to Dean Lin Harmon, lharmon@law.pace.edu.

The 2012 National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition will be held on the Pace Law campus on February 23-25, 2012.  Over 75 schools are registered to participate in this preeminent moot centered on current environmental issues. Attorneys who are admitted to the bar are invited to judge the preliminary rounds of oral arguments on February 23 and 24.  Two CLE practice credits may be earned per round of judging.  An environmental ethics CLE course will also be offered at a discounted price on February 23.
