Professor Abrahams-John is currently associated with the law firm of Hahn & Hessen LLP where she is a member of the Bankruptcy Practice Group, representing official creditors' committees, secured and unsecured creditors and financial institutions in bankruptcies and out-of-court restructurings. Prior to joining Hahn & Hessen, Professor Abrahams-John was a banking and finance attorney at the firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges and a bankruptcy and restructuring attorney at the firm of Dewey Ballantine. Among other articles, Professor Abrahams-John co-authored the article "United States Securities Laws Implications on Corporate Restructuring," which was published in Reorganizing Failing Businesses: A Comprehensive Review and Analysis of Financial Restructuring and Business Reorganization, Volume 1, American Bar Association, Section of Business Law. Professor Abrahams-John graduated summa cum laude from Howard University School of Law, and was the Notes and Comments Editor of the Howard Law School Journal. She also received various AmJur awards for excellence in legal writing while in law school.
