Professor Luis E. Chiesa joined the full-time faculty in 2007. Prior to that, he clerked for the Honorable Federico Hernández Denton, Chief Justice of the Puerto Rico Supreme Court. Professor Chiesa was the Rembe Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Washington. He has also been a visiting Professor of Criminal Law at the Torcuato Di Tella University in Buenos Aires, Argentina and a member of the visiting Faculty at the Sergio Arboleda University in Bogota, Colombia. Professor Chiesa serves as editor in charge of book reviews for the New Criminal Law Review. His research interests focus on substantive criminal law, criminal procedure, comparative law, and animal cruelty laws.
