July 2014 Alumni Highlight
Michael J. Konicoff (’13) and Taylor A. Piscionere (’13) got engaged on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Pace Law School. Michael graduated from Boston College (’09) and Taylor graduated from Boston University (’10). Michael and Taylor met during their first year at Pace Law School where they were in the same section. Michael proposed to Taylor right outside the Pace Law School library where they first met. Michael arranged to have Professor Carol Barry lure Taylor to the library under the pretense of speaking to several students. Once Taylor arrived, Professor Barry escorted Taylor to the bench outside the library where Michael was waiting with flowers, a photographer, and a ring. Taylor said “yes!”
Michael and Taylor are both 2013 graduates of Pace Law School. During their time at Pace, Michael was involved in the Innocence Project and participated in various externships, including one at the Attorney General’s Office and one at the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor. Taylor was the Editor-in-Chief of Pace International Law Review and also participated in various externships at the Westchester DA’s Office and Manhattan DA’s Office. Both Michael and Taylor recall the positive experiences that they had at Pace Law School and with their professors, especially Professor Barry and Professor Doernberg.
Currently, Michael is an associate at Piscionere & Nemarow, P.C. in Westchester, New York. Michael practices primarily in matrimonial law, civil litigation, and criminal defense. Taylor is an Assistant District Attorney at the Queens County District Attorney’s Office. Taylor’s father, Anthony G. Piscionere, is also a Pace Law alumnus (Class of 1980) and was an honoree at Pace Law School’s 18th Annual Leadership Awards Dinner.
Michael and Taylor currently live in New York City. In their spare time they enjoy running, reading, hiking, playing soccer (Michael) and cheering on the Yankees! They are planning for a September 2015 wedding.
