Legal Resources
Pace directs its innovative spirit into emerging and
re-emerging realms of the law where it can play a decisive role in
shaping policy and structuring practice. Our practice of sensing and
seizing opportunities for legal study has lead us to introduce and
develop centers and clinics of interest in fields beyond the
traditional Juris Doctor.

| Holding the City to Standards |
On behalf of a coalition in Fleischmanns, New York, I prepared a lawsuit against New York City for giving a junkyard a variance to operate in a watershed area and next to an historic district. Armed with watershed rules and regulations banning junkyards within 250 feet of a watercourse, we were successful in having the variance revoked. With my participation in the Land Use Law Center and the Clinic, I feel I know the law, where to find it and how to write in a cogent and persuasive fashion.
