**The PILC Public Interest Summer Fellowship is a competitive grant program that funds students working at full-time unpaid, off-campus public interest summer internships for which they are NOT receiving academic credit. Applicants are not guaranteed funding. The fellowship cannot fund work at for-profit law firms or institutions, lobbying organizations or in judicial internships/clerkships.
Summer funding for unpaid public sector positions comes from several sources including the annual PILSO (Public Interest Law Students organization) Online Auction. The Online Auction will be open March 8-March 15. (We are not requiring applicants for funding to obtain donation items for the auction to be eligible for funding this year, however, applicants who do obtain 2 donation items will earn a “PILSO point” - PILSO points are one factor considered in assessing funding applicants.) For more details on obtaining items for the auction, the funding application procedures, as well as applicant and placement eligibility, please review the application. Contact Elyse Diamond in the Public Interest Law Center with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org or 914-422-4219.
