September 6, 2014 – Pace Law School Reunion 2014 – 42 The Restaurant, White Plains, NY
On Saturday evening, September 6, 2014, alumni from the classes of 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, and 2009, along with their guests, faculty, and staff gathered to celebrate Class Reunion 2014. This year’s reunion included the Class of 1979, which was the first graduating class from Pace Law School after opening its doors in 1976. Members from all of the classes spent the evening reconnecting with classmates and former professors. Dean David Yassky also attended the Reunion and made brief remarks. Next year’s Class Reunion 2015 will be celebrating the classes of 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, and 2010.
July 17, 2014 – Environmental Alumni Reception – Café Centro Outdoor Terrace at Grand Central, NYC
On Thursday evening, July 17, 2014, the weather was perfect as Pace Law School hosted an environmental alumni reception at Café Centro’s Outdoor Terrace in New York City. Approximately 51 alumni, faculty, staff, current, and incoming students gathered to connect, reconnect, and network in New York City. Professor Jason Czarnezki was in attendance, along with Professor Ann Powers. Dean David Yassky also attended and made brief remarks.
July 8, 2014 – Washington, D.C. Environmental Law Externship Reception – Katten Muchin Rosenman Washington, D.C.
On Tuesday evening, July 8, 2014, the Washington, D.C. Environmental Law Externship reception took place at the law firm of Katten Muchin Rosenman in Washington, D.C. During the first half of the evening, the 2014 externs gathered along with their mentors to receive their certificates for completing the summer program. Remarks were made by Dean David Yassky, Professor Jason Czarnezki, Professor Steven Solow, and Professor Robyn Hanson. Following this, an alumni and student reception took place. Each year, Professor Steven Solow and his firm, Katten Muchin Rosenman, host the well-attended event, which provides a forum for alumni, students, and faculty to reconnect over cocktails and food.
June 4, 2014 – Dean David Yassky Welcome Reception – Cahill Gordon & Reindel, LLP, New York, NY
On Wednesday evening, June 4, 2014, Pace Law School alumni, faculty, and staff gathered to welcome Dean David Yassky at a reception held at the law firm of Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP in New York City. David Wishengrad, a 2005 alumni and partner at the firm, introduced Dean Yassky and Dean Yassky gave remarks and held an impromptu Q&A session. Attendees networked over cocktails and food for the remainder of the event.
May 5, 2014 – Dean David Yassky Welcome Reception – Tudor Room, Pace Law School
On Monday evening, May 5, 2014, Pace Law School alumni, faculty, and staff gathered for a reception welcoming Dean David Yassky. Dean Yassky started on April 1, 2014 as the 10th Dean of Pace Law School. He gave brief remarks thanking the Pace Law community for the welcome he has received and expressing his gratitude in having joined the School. April 24, 2014 – Countdown to Graduation – Vintage Bar & Restaurant, White Plains
On Thursday evening, April 24, 2014, Countdown to Graduation and the Annual Alumni Association Meeting were held at Vintage in White Plains. Pace Law alumni, faculty, staff, and Dean David Yassky gathered for this annual event to congratulate the graduating students of the Class of 2014 on their upcoming law school graduation and welcome them to the legal and alumni communities. Numerous members of Pace Law School's Alumni Board were in attendance and congratulatory remarks were made by Board Secretary, Jennifer Gray ('06).
April 23, 2014 – Reception for Honorable Daniel D. Angiolillo – Tudor Room, Pace Law School
On Wednesday evening, April 23, 2014, Judges, attorneys, colleagues, and friends gathered for a reception recognizing the Honorable Daniel D. Angiolillo. Judge Angiolillo is a retired Senior Appellate Judge and the Jurist in residence at Pace Law School. Remarks were given by Anthony Pirrotti, Jr. Esq., President of the Westchester region of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, Jay Carlisle, Professor of Law at Pace Law School, Kevan Slattery, the former law clerk of Judge Angiolillo and Judge Angiolillo himself. Robert Danzi, President of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association was in attendance at the event, as was District Administrative Judge for the 9th Judicial
District, Alan D. Scheinkman, along with several appellate division justices from the 2nd department, and Pace Law School’s new dean, David Yassky. The reception was
hosted by the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and Pace Law School at the Law School.
April 2, 2014 – Litigation-Themed Networking Reception – Vintage Bar & Restaurant, White Plains
Pace Law School hosted a litigation-themed evening of networking on April 2, 2014, at Vintage in White Plains. Nearly 70 people were in attendance including Pace Law School’s new Dean, David Yassky, along with current students, alumni, faculty, and staff. This was the first in a planned series of networking events focused on a variety of practice areas.
March 27, 2014 – Dean Janet Johnson and Professor Jay Carlisle Jury Room Dedication – Gerber Glass Library, Pace Law School
On Thursday evening, March 27, 2014, Pace Law School dedicated their Jury Room in honor of Dean Janet A. Johnson and Professor Jay C. Carlisle. The room is now officially the Dean Janet A. Johnson and Professor Jay C. Carlisle Jury Room. The dedication symbolizes the immeasurable loyalty and commitment of Dean Johnson and Professor Carlisle to Pace Law School, it’s students, and alumni. In attendance at the dedication were many current students, former students, Pace Law School faculty, family, friends, and local Westchester community leaders. Several former students provided remarks about the significant impact Dean Johnson and Professor Carlisle have had on them. One former student of Dean Johnson’s remarked that a meeting she had with Dean Johnson “changed my life.” She went on to distinguish Professor Carlisle as “a mentor and extraordinary teacher.”
