Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF)

The purpose of SALDF is to nurture the development of animal law and future animal law attorneys. SALDF creates awareness of animal law issues and generates involvement in local and national animal law activities. We organize field trips, fundraisers, shelter drives, petitions, and other events to strengthen the enforcement of anti-cruelty laws and to encourage more humane treatment of animals everywhere. Some of our events include "Wolf Week" in conjunction with ELS, where we raise funds for the local Wolf Conservation Center, and a "Picnic with Pups," where we help students relax during exams while simultaneously raising awareness for a local no-kill shelter and hanging out with some adoptable canines.

We welcome innovative ideas, enthusiasm, and participation at whatever level each individual student can give.
